Google Flow AI Tools Streamline Fashion Week Prep
Google has partnered with fashion designers Jane Wade and Sergio Hudson to deploy custom Google Flow AI tools for New York Fashion Week, demonstrating how generative technology can optimize real-world creative workflows.

Google's Envisioning Studio, supported by Google Labs, collaborated with fashion designers Jane Wade and Sergio Hudson to integrate Google Flow into their preparation for New York Fashion Week. Google Flow is an AI-powered creative studio that allows users to build bespoke design and workflow tools using natural language, requiring no prior coding experience. By creating tailored applications, the designers shifted their focus from tedious logistical tasks to the actual creative process.
For Jane Wade, the collaboration resulted in a tool called Styling Suite. Traditionally, in-person casting and fittings can consume up to three full days for a fashion design team. Wade's custom tool allowed her to digitally map out complete runway looks, arranging hair, makeup, accessories, footwear, and clothing on virtual models. This digital staging enabled her to balance each ensemble and spot missing elements before committing resources to cut and sew physical samples.
Sergio Hudson utilized a different tool called Runway Visualization to design his runway show under strict budget constraints. In traditional fashion production, altering lighting or props requires generating entirely new 3D renderings, which quickly inflates costs. Hudson's Google Flow tool simulated the physical venue, letting him swap props, adjust lighting configurations, and map out the exact paths for his models to walk, all while keeping track of his financial limits.
These applications highlight a shift from theoretical AI concepts to practical, real-world utility in creative industries. For fashion practitioners and other designers, Google Flow offers a way to bypass administrative bottlenecks and costly production revisions. By using simple language to construct custom workflow solutions, creators can quickly resolve specific logistical hurdles without needing software development skills.
