HUMAIN and KORA partner to build AI-native Linux OS
HUMAIN and KORA Systems have partnered to develop HUMAIN OS, an AI-native Linux operating system designed to run a 26-billion-parameter model locally on Qualcomm hardware by 2027.

At the LEAP 2026 conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabian AI firm HUMAIN and Silicon Valley-based KORA Systems announced a joint engineering partnership to develop HUMAIN OS. This enterprise-grade, AI-native operating system is built on a Linux foundation. While the partners demonstrated an early preview of the platform at the event, they plan to make the operating system commercially available in 2027.
The system aims to shift the computing paradigm from manual user commands to an automated flow of intent, intelligence, and action. To achieve this, the companies are designing an on-device intelligence layer optimized for Qualcomm computing platforms. This layer is specifically targeted to run a 26-billion-parameter AI model locally on the Qualcomm neural processing unit (NPU). By running such a large model directly on the PC, the system ensures that sensitive enterprise workloads and data remain local.
Beyond local processing, HUMAIN OS will feature a hybrid orchestration architecture. It will leverage KORA's Cortex hybrid inference engine to distribute workloads across local devices, enterprise environments, and cloud infrastructure. KORA's founding team brings deep operating system experience to the project, having previously shipped Cyanogen, Android, and GameOS to more than one billion devices. The new OS will automatically determine where to run tasks based on latency, cost, connectivity, privacy, and model capabilities. The platform will also integrate semantic information retrieval, agentic computer-use capabilities, and an AI-native productivity suite for documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
For IT practitioners and developers, this development represents a fundamental shift in enterprise device management and software deployment. Instead of managing siloed AI applications on top of traditional operating systems, administrators can leverage built-in governance, policy enforcement, and identity management directly within the OS kernel. This allows autonomous agents to safely take authorized actions on behalf of users while maintaining strict enterprise security compliance.
