Miami-based fintech startup Félix has secured $200 million in a Series C funding round to expand its AI-powered WhatsApp remittance platform. The funding consists of an $87 million equity investment co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and a $113 million debt commitment from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund. Other equity participants include QED Investors, Castle Island Ventures, Switch Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, and Endeavor Catalyst. This latest round brings the company's total funding to nearly $300 million.

While Félix did not disclose its exact post-money valuation, the company stated that its valuation has tripled since its $75 million Series B round led by QED Investors in 2025. The startup, founded in 2020 by Manuel Godoy and Bernardo García, has experienced rapid growth, increasing its revenue by more than 2.5 times over the past year. To date, Félix has processed over $8 billion in transactions, facilitating money transfers from the United States to families across 11 Latin American countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Peru.

For developers and financial technology practitioners, Félix's model demonstrates how to successfully abstract complex backend technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence into a highly accessible consumer interface. By utilizing WhatsApp as the primary user interface, Félix allows customers to initiate transactions using natural language. According to Andreessen Horowitz general partner Ali Yahya, the startup has packaged "two frontier technologies" into a simple, consumer-friendly product. This approach bypasses traditional, friction-heavy banking applications, showing fintech developers that conversational AI can serve as a viable alternative to dedicated mobile apps for cross-border payments.

The massive funding round comes amid a shifting landscape for global fintech investment. In the first half of 2026, fintech startups raised $28.6 billion globally. While this represents a 22.7% increase compared to the first half of 2025, it is a 17.3% decline from the $34.6 billion raised in the second half of last year. Félix plans to deploy its new capital to enter new markets across Latin America and expand its financial product offerings.
