We tested the Beats Studio Buds back in April 2022, and reviewer Simon Cohen said, “In the Studio Buds, Beats found a perfect balance between features and price.” While fans of earbud customization will be disappointed in the barebones Beats app, the Studio Buds deliver an encompassing sound that hones in nicely on vocals and instruments.

There’s a decent amount of bass present in most mixes, too, though not as realized as the low-end you’ll get from more advanced Beats earbuds. The onboard ANC system does an okay job at blocking bass and midrange noise, a feature carried over into taking phone calls. You’ll also get up to 5 hours of playback on a full charge with ANC enabled, with an extra 10 hours of battery life provided by the charging case.

The Beats Studio Buds have an IPX4 rating for water resistance, too, so a spotty rain shower or a sweaty day at the gym shouldn’t affect your listening experience.

When we tested the Studio Buds+ back in 2023, reviewer Simon Cohen gave them 4 out of 5 stars and praised the buds for comfort, battery life, and ANC performance. 

The Beats Studio Buds+ are an excellent choice for an everyday set of earbuds. On a full charge, you should get about 6 hours of battery life, and when the case is fully charged, it provides an extra 24 playback hours. Volume and ANC settings do affect the overall battery, but the Studio Buds+ should get you through the average work or school day without much hassle. 

The Studio Buds+ deliver great sound quality and solid left-right stereo imaging. The default audio profile provides a bit of extra bass in most mixes, so genres like rock, rap, and hip-hop sound particularly good. These earbuds also deliver an excellent ANC experience so that you can tune out distracting sounds like HVAC noise and workplace chatter. 

While we do wish Bluetooth Multipoint was a feature of these buds, Beats makes up for it with the Beats app (for iOS and Android devices), which lets you customize the touch controls for the Studio Buds+. It’s also worth mentioning that the Studio Buds+ are IPX4-rated for water resistance, making them a great choice for hitting the gym or going for a run.

It’s difficult to say how long this sale might last, but we’re willing to bet these buds will be back to full price by early next week. That being said, today might be your last chance to save $70 on these in-ears.

The Beats Studio Buds bring an exciting sound profile to the table, with plenty of treble-range articulation and a solid amount of low-end, too. Featuring a lightweight design with multiple ear tip sizes to choose from, the Studio Buds are also comfortable to wear for hours at a time and will last up to 5 hours on a full charge (with an extra 10 hours of playback provided by a topped-off case). The Studio Buds are even IPX4-rated, making them a decent choice for the gym or a run.

When it comes to noise canceling, the Studio Buds’ ANC system does a decent job of muffling distracting sounds in your environment. You’ll also be able to download the Beats app to customize the name of your buds and program the long-press command to either summon a voice assistant or switch ANC modes.

While we wish we could say $100 was the new permanent price of the Beats Studio Buds, the reality is that these in-ears will probably go back to $150 soon. So, we recommend buying ASAP.
