  • Stop! And watch these 3 great movies leaving Netflix by July 1

The end of June is days away, and Netflix is ready to say goodbye to more than 35 titles. Sorry, fans of Edward or Jacob, but all four Twilight movies will disappear from the service by July 1. The sci-fi epic Dune: Part Two is leaving and will exist on HBO Max.

The list doesn’t stop there. Another movie departing Netflix at the end of the month includes Ocean’s Thirteen, the cherry on top of Steven Soderbergh’s tremendous heist trilogy. Keep reading for more streaming information.

We also have guides to the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.

    13 Going on 30 (2004)

Is anyone more charming than Jennifer Garner? If you’re in dire need of some positivity, follow Garner on Instagram. You’ll thank me later. That magnetism was on full display in 13 Going on 30, a delightful rom-com packed with teenage nostalgia and a feel-good message

After being bullied by the popular kids at her birthday party, 13-year-old Jenna (Christa B. Allen) wishes to be “thirty, flirty, and thriving.” Unbeknownst to Jenna, wishing dust transforms her into a 30-year-old woman (Garner). The new Jenna lives in a beautiful apartment and works as a fashion editor. Her dream came true, but Jenna quickly realizes that adults and teens face similar societal problems.

    Ocean’s Thirteen (2007)

Ocean’s movies are leaving on July 1, so watch all three. After watching perfection in Ocean’s Eleven and boldness in Ocean’s Twelve, finish off the sensational trilogy with Ocean’s Thirteen. For Danny Ocean (George Clooney), Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt), and their heist crew, this next mission is personal. Danny’s friend and partner, Reuben Tishkoff (Elliot Gould), is double-crossed and cheated out of a deal by casino magnate Willy Bank (Al Pacino).

Danny plans to sabotage Bank’s new hotel and put it out of business. For those who believed Ocean’s Twelve went too meta, Ocean’s Thirteen follows the feel-good formula of Ocean’s Eleven to deliver a satisfying conclusion.

Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018)

Sicario: Day of the Soldado faced significant challenges even before its release. Sicario is a masterclass of a thriller from director Denis Villeneuve. For the sequel, Stefano Sollima stepped into the director’s chair, and instead of crafting another war-on-drugs thriller, he made a Western around Benicio del Toro’s Alejandro Gillick.

FBI Agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) recruits Gillick to instigate a cartel war at the U.S.-Mexican border to smoke out the group that smuggled in terrorists. The FBI kidnaps Isabel Reyes (Isabela Merced), the daughter of a powerful drug lord. When the plan goes haywire, the U.S. government wants to dump Isabel, but Gillick refuses. Now trapped in Mexico, Gillick must protect Isabel long enough to safely cross the border. Day of the Soldado does not have the highs of the first Sicario, but del Toro is still performing at a high level.

  • 5 movies leaving Netflix in June 2025 you have to watch now

What’s on tap for Netflix in June? Squid Game returns for a third and final season. Will Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) finally shut the game down once and for all? For movies, Tyler Perry’s Straw has remained in the top 10 for almost the entire month.

While those two programs will remain on Netflix for the foreseeable future, a good chunk of movies will be departing from the service at the end of the month. One of those movies is Dune: Part Two, the second part of a sci-fi epic. Find out more about Dune: Part Two and other movies below.

We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.

    Ocean’s Eleven (2011)

Heist movies have never looked cooler. Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven is a stylish comedy with incredible movie star performances and a witty script. After his release from prison, Danny Ocean (George Clooney) wastes no time planning his next move.

Danny recruits his former partner, Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt), and the wealthy Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould) to rob the Las Vegas casinos owned by Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia). If a $150 million score isn’t enough motivation, Benedict is dating Danny’s ex-wife, Tess Ocean (Julia Roberts). Prepare to be charmed, wowed, and downright entertained.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

Next month, Sony will attempt to resurrect its teen slasher franchise with the I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel. Before it hits theaters next month, revisit the original from 1997 that created four of the biggest teen stars of the era.

In Southport, four friends — Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt), Ray Bronson (Freddie Prinze Jr.), Helen Shivers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), and Barry Cox (Ryan Phillippe) — accidentally hit a person and throw his body into the water. One year later, the group receives a letter from a killer that says, “I know what you did last summer!” It’s not Scream, but it’s perfect ‘90s camp.

Stream I Know What You Did Last Summer on Netflix.

    Do the Right Thing (1989)

The movie that should have won Spike Lee an Oscar is Do the Right Thing. Brooklyn native Mookie (Lee) works for Sal Fragione (Danny Aiello) as a delivery driver for his pizza shop. One of the neighborhood residents, Buggin’ Out (Giancarlo Esposito), demands that Sal put up pictures of African Americans on the pizza shop’s wall of fame.

Sal refuses, which leads to one of the several disagreements about race scattered throughout the movie. As the heat rises, so too do the tensions, culminating in one of cinema’s defining moments of the last 40 years.

Stream Do the Right Thing on Netflix.

    Dune: Part Two (2024)

Denis Villeneuve did the impossible in Dune by adapting the unadaptable sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert. Three years later, Villeneuve arguably outdid himself and directed Dune: Part Two, which might one day be considered a masterpiece. After the fall of his house, Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and his mother, Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), have been accepted by the Fremen.

At first, Paul tries to become an ordinary Fremen. However, Paul is allied to something greater, and he must embrace his destiny to free the Fremen and become the Messiah.

    The Equalizer 3 (2023)

For someone with Malcolm X and Alonzo Harris on his resume, Robert McCall is slowly rising in the ranks of his iconic characters. After getting back into the assassin game, McCall now lives in Southern Italy in The Equalizer 3 and works for those oppressed by the mob.

After falling in love with the people of a small coastal town, Robert comes to their defense when the residents face persecution by the  Camorra. Being that it’s an Equalizer movie, expect Washington to embark on several killing sprees that are wildly entertaining.

  • 5 movies leaving Netflix in May 2025 you have to watch now

May belongs to Vince Vaughn and the grandmothers. Nonnas, which premiered on May 9, has become a hit on Netflix and remains in the top 10 most popular movies list. From the kitchen to the football field, Untold: The Fall of Favre is a fascinating look into two notorious scandals involving Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.

Nonnas and The Fall of Favre will remain on the streamer when the calendar changes from May to June. Unfortunately, these five movies are departing the service. One of them is Batman Begins, the first movie in the spectacular Dark Knight trilogy. Check out the rest of the picks below.

We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.

    Batman Begins (2005)

In 2025, Christopher Nolan is the top filmmaker in Hollywood concerning power, notoriety, and recognition. 20 years ago, Nolan did not have the same juice he has now. However, Batman Begins is arguably the movie that changed his career. The previous Batman movies treated Bruce Wayne like a comic book character. Nolan crafted a more grounded and nuanced version of the character, starting with a gritty origin story in Batman Begins.

After years of training and traveling globally, Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) returns to Gotham City and becomes Batman, the masked vigilante intent on ridding the city of crime. Batman’s foes include his former mentor, Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson), and Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy), two men who believe Gotham isn’t worth saving. After watching Batman Begins, stream The Dark Knight and Batman Begins, which also leave at the end of the month.

    Stream Batman Begins on Netflix.

    Den of Thieves (2018)

What a comeback year it’s been for Den of Thieves. The cult classic’s popularity led to a sequel, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, which premiered in January. Plus, a third movie is now in the works. However, these sequels would not have been possible without the original from 2018. Written and directed by Christian Gudegast, Den of Thieves is a heist film set in Los Angeles that pits the cops against the robbers.

The lines are blurred as neither side is good nor evil. The police are led by Big Nick O’Brien (Gerard Butler), a renegade cop who frequently breaks the law to apprehend the enemy. The outlaws’ leader is Ray Merrimen (Pablo Schreiber), a former Marine and mastermind of a heist crew. Merrimen’s group plans to hit the Federal Reserve Bank, and Big Nick plans to stop it. It’s going to get loud, violent, and chaotic once these two sides battle.

    Pride & Prejudice (2005)

“You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love you.” Jane Austen fans will recognize that iconic line from Joe Wright’s terrific adaptation of Pride & Prejudice. In the English countryside live the five Bennet sisters: Jane (Rosamund Pike), Elizabeth (Kiera Knightley), Mary (Talulah Riley), Kitty (Carey Mulligan), and Lydia (Jena Malone). The girls have been pressured by their father to find a suitable husband, particularly a wealthy one.

The free-spirited Elizabeth has no plans to marry for money and will hold out for love. Could that man be Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen)? Good luck not falling in love with the will-they-won’t-they dilemma between Elizabeth and Darcy.

Stream Pride & Prejudice on Netflix.

    GoodFellas (1990)

Martin Scorsese’s greatest movie is about to leave Netflix, which is a crime against humanity. The late Ray Liotta plays Henry Hill, a Brooklyn teenager who advances within the ranks of the Mafia to become one of its top lieutenants. While working for the mafia, Henry becomes closely associated with Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro), an Irish-American gangster, and Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci), a fiery criminal.

The trio reaps the rewards of being in the mafia — money, drugs, and power. These items also lead to their demise. The brilliance of Goodfellas is how Scorsese divides the story into two halves. The first half glamorizes the mafia lifestyle, while the second half explores the dark consequences of being a gangster. Describing Goodfellas as a masterpiece does not do it justice.

    Stream Goodfellas on Netflix.

    Two Weeks Notice (2002)

Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant starring in Two Weeks Notice is equivalent to Captain America and Iron Man joining the Avengers. Bullock and Grant became two of the ’90s biggest names, especially in rom-coms. The stars aligned in Two Weeks Notice, Marc Lawrence’s take on the opposites attract trope. Lawyer Lucy Kelson (Sandra Bullock) will do whatever it takes to protect the environment. Billionaire George Wade (Hugh Grant) only cares about himself and his money.

Lucy works for George after he promises to save a community center. At first, oil and water are a better mix than Lucy and George. Over time, the duo come to appreciate one another’s company and gain feelings. Even with a predictable ending, Two Weeks Notice will satisfy anyone who loves on-screen chemistry between the leads.

  • Stop! And watch these 3 great movies leaving Netflix by May 1

Before we discuss what’s leaving Netflix, let’s talk about what’s coming. When you read this, Havoc, a new action movie starring Tom Hardy, will be streaming on the service. Next month, a new Vince Vaughn comedy, Nonnas, begins streaming on May 9. Plus, the Fear Street series gains another entry, Fear Street: Prom Queen, on May 24.

While those three movies will live on the service for a long time, a handful of movies are leaving Netflix on May 1. One of those movies is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, an excellent animated film that follows the adventures of Miles Morales. Learn more about Across the Spider-Verse and two other movies below.

We also have guides to the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.

    Definitely, Maybe (2008)

Definitely, Maybe must be on the list of Ryan Reynolds’ most underrated movies. Sure, Reynolds’ signature humor and wit are all over this performance. However, this rom-com features the Deadpool actor’s softer side — one with more empathy and compassion. Manhattanite Will Hayes (Reynolds) is currently going through a divorce when his 10-year-old daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), asks how he met her mother.

Will turns this story into a game by naming three women from his past and changing their names so Maya can guess which woman became her mother. The charming tale becomes a way for Will to reexamine his life as he reminisces about the one who got away.

    Stream Definitely, Maybe on Netflix.

    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)

If Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is Batman Begins, then Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is The Dark Knight. Not only is it one of the most innovative animated movies, but Across the Spider-Verse will eventually be associated with some of the best sequels ever made. In Brooklyn, Miles (Shameik Moore) struggles to balance his personal life with his Spider-Man duties.

When the villainous Spot (Jason Schwartzman) is too much for him to handle, Miles and Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld) travel through the multiverse and meet an entire society of Spider-People. However, Miles finds himself at odds with their leader, Miguel (Oscar Isaac), who pits the other Spiders against him. With few allies, Miles must trust his gut and follow his heart to save the multiverse.

    King Kong (2005)

After exploring Middle-earth in the landmark Lord of the Rings trilogy, Peter Jackson tackled the most famous gorilla in cinematic history for King Kong. As a remake of the 1933 movie, King Kong picks up during the Great Depression, with director Carl Denham (Jack Black) setting sail for Skull Island. Joining Carl are actress Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts), Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody), and a small crew.

After a violent encounter with the natives, the film crew realizes the real threat is Kong, a 25-foot ape and ape predator on the island. Kong kidnaps Ann, but she surprisingly forms a strong bond with the beast while in captivity. It all culminates with a spectacular New York City battle with stunning visual effects that still hold up 20 years later.

  • 5 movies leaving Netflix in April 2025 you have to watch now

April belongs to Tom Hardy. The English actor is one of the stars on Guy Ritchie’s MobLand, a popular Paramount+ series. Later this month, Hardy will tackle crime and corruption in Havoc, a new action thriller from acclaimed director Gareth Evans. Havoc is already generating positive buzz and should be on Netflix’s most popular list.

While Havoc will remain on Netflix for a long time, these five movies are leaving the service at the end of the month. Our picks include an emotional romance, a landmark superhero adventure, and a terrific psychological drama.

We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.

    About Time (2013)

About Time is not the best movie about love, but it’s a beautiful depiction of sincerity and sentimentality. After a night of partying, Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) learns from his father that the men in their family can travel through time. The Lakes can relive moments they have experienced before.

Tim’s father discourages his son from using the powers to give him money or fame. Instead, Tim uses his gift for love. Enter Mary (Rachel McAdams), the woman that wins Tim’s heart, though it takes him a few tries to make things perfect. That’s the tough lesson Tim learns with time travel. What’s meant to be will be. Some things need to fall apart so that better things can fall together.

    Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

Let’s go back to 2013. Matthew McConaughey is in the middle of his “McConaissance.” The proud Texan avoided the rom-coms in favor of more serious and dramatic roles. After positive turns in Mud and Magic Mike, McConaughey starred in Dallas Buyers Club, the movie that completed his transformation to a critically acclaimed actor.

In 1985, electrician Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) is diagnosed with AIDS and given 30 days to live. The only drug approved by the FDA only worsens his condition. Desperate for help, Ron secures alternative drugs and supplements in Mexico and brings them across the border. His health improves, and he starts selling these drugs to other AIDS patients. Thanks to his physical transformation and profound performance, McConaughey won the Oscar for Best Actor.

    Meet the Parents (2000)

Last month, Universal announced the development of Meet the Parents 4, with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro returning to star. With this news, you might as well revisit the movie that kicked off the franchise, Meet the Parents. Meeting your significant other’s parents in a relationship is scary, but it’s a nightmare for Greg Focker (Stiller).

Greg and his girlfriend, Pam Byrnes (Teri Polo), head to Long Island to meet her parents: Jack (De Niro) and Dina (Blythe Danner) Burns. Greg plans to ask Jack for permission to marry Pam. Greg quickly learns that Jack is overprotective of his daughter and will do anything to keep her safe, even if that means ruining her relationship. It’s only a game, Focker.

    Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Spider-Man 2 finds itself on many “best of” lists — best sequels, best superhero movies, best Spider-Man movies, best Sam Raimi movies, etc. It’s a defining moment in superhero lore, as Spider-Man 2 proved what a sequel should be — bigger, better, and bolder. Two years after Norman Osborn’s death, Peter grapples with balancing life as a civilian and Spider-Man.

After a nuclear fusion experiment goes haywire, Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) becomes Dr. Octopus with four mechanical tentacles. The stress of saving the city causes Peter’s powers to fade as he gives up on being Spider-Man. Peter’s other problems include that Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) is engaged to another man and Harry (James Franco) hates Spider-Man. Uncle Ben really meant it when he said, “With great power comes great responsibility.”

    Stream Spider-Man 2 on Netflix.

    Whiplash (2014)

What does it cost to be great? Damien Chazelle crafts one of the best movies about obsession in Whiplash. Andrew Neiman (Miles Teller) wants to do one thing: become a great jazz drummer. While attending New York City’s top music conservatory, Andrew is recruited to play in the Studio Band by its lead instructor, Terence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons).

Once Andrew joins the band, he enters hell, as Fletcher transforms into a mentally and physically abusive teacher. However, Andrew is undeterred from his dreams as he becomes obsessed with proving his teacher wrong and showing his skills to the world. Whiplash is a sports movie set in the world of jazz, and Chazelle’s psychological drama remains one of the better depictions of the pursuit of greatness.

  • 5 movies leaving Netflix in March 2025 you have to watch now

March has been a solid month for new additions on Netflix. Despite the poor reviews, the latest movie from the Russo Brothers, The Electric State, is one of the most popular movies on the streamer. Meanwhile, heist fans will appreciate Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, the action-packed sequel starring Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr.

While those two movies will remain on Netflix for the foreseeable future, a select group won’t be on the service much longer. From now until the end of March, try watching one of these five movies before they leave the service for good. Our picks include a heist comedy, a sci-fi thriller, and a Nolan masterpiece.

    Baby Driver (2017)

Lily James and Ansel Elgort in Baby Driver
    Sony Pictures

Edgar Wright makes stylish movies. From the infectious music and zany humor to the kinetic energy and fast-paced action, Wright’s signature method is on full display in all of his films. The titular character in Baby Driver might be one of Wright’s coolest characters. Baby (Ansel Elgort) loves two things: music and cars. Baby works as a getaway driver for Doc (Kevin Spacey), the mastermind behind the heists.

Because he suffers from tinnitus, Baby is constantly listening to music. Baby’s outlook on life changes when he meets a kind waitress, Debora (Lily James). For the first time, Baby pictures a future for himself. He wants to complete one last job and leave his criminal past behind. It won’t be easy, but Baby can do it. But first, he must pick the perfect song for the mission.

    Elysium (2013)

    Matt Damon looks scared.
    Sony Pictures Releasing

Matt Damon apparently fell in love with sci-fi in the 2010s. From 2010 through 2016, Damon starred in The Adjustment BureauContagionInterstellar, The Martian, and The Great Wall, and the movie featured on this list, Elysium. In 2154, humanity is divided into two sections. The poor, sick, and malnourished citizens live on Earth. Meanwhile, the wealthy live on Elysium, a luxurious space station orbiting above Earth.

After being exposed to radiation, factory worker Max Da Costa (Damon) is only given five days to live. His only hope for survival is to get to Elysium to use a med-bay, a device that cures people of disease. It won’t be easy getting to Elysium. If there’s anything the wealthy want more than anything, it’s to keep their advantage over the poor. Let the battle begin.

    Interstellar (2014)

    Interstellar-2014-Paramount-Pictures.jpg
    Paramount Pictures

To the stars, we go. In Interstellar, Christopher Nolan asks: What if mankind was never meant to die on Earth? In a dystopian future, crop blights and dust storms have humanity on the verge of extinction. Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a former pilot turned farmer, is recruited by NASA to lead an expedition to a wormhole off Saturn.

Joining Cooper on this mission are Brand (Anne Hathaway), Romilly (David Gyasi), and Doyle (Wes Bentley). The scientists hope to find a habitable planet on the other side of the wormhole. The catch: Cooper does not know when he will return to Earth and reunite with his family. Backed by an inquisitive script and mesmerizing visuals, Interstellar is a sci-fi spectacle with much to say about personal relationships, resulting in Nolan’s most personal film.

    It (2017)

Pennywise the clown holds a red balloon.
    Brooke Palmer / Warner Bros.

Tim Curry gave kids nightmares for 27 years after portraying Pennywise the Clown in 1990’s It, the television adaptation of Stephen King’s 1986 novel. Curry received some company in the nightmare department thanks to Bill Skarsgård, who gave his terrifying interpretation of the clown in Andy Muschietti’s It. Like the novel and miniseries, the movie heads to Derry, Maine, where Pennywise the Dancing Clown begins terrorizing kids, including Georgie Denbrough (Jackson Robert Scott).

Georgie’s older brother, Bill (Jaeden Lieberher), sets out to find Georgie, believing he might still be alive. Bill and his fellow “Losers” — a club of social outcasts — learn that Georgie and the rest of Derry are being stalked by “It,” the murderous clown who feeds on fear. To stop Pennywise, the Losers must face their inner demons head-on. Easier said than done, considering a murderous clown stands in their way.

    Love Actually (2003)

Liam Neeson and Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Dnaiel and Sam talking in Love Actually.
    Universal Pictures

No rule states that Love Actually is reserved for the Christmas season. Is watching this rom-com in March a little aggressive? Yes, but it’s leaving Netflix, so why not get in a little Christmas spirit? Truth be told, the internet has criticized Love Actually too much. It’s gone from a Christmas classic to a terrible rom-com in the span of a few years.

Are there some creepy parts? Yes. The cue card storyline is still bizarre, albeit iconic. The going to America storyline is unnecessary but harmless. Don’t even get me started on the sex scene stand-ins. Despite these critiques, Emma Thompson listening to Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell is still legendary. Liam Neeson helping his stepson impress his crush remains heartfelt. Hugh Grant finding romance behind the curtains is charming. But Billy Mack (Bill Nighy), realizing the best relationship in his life is with his manager (Gregor Fisher), still rules.
