  • Game Pass has three killer new games you should play this weekend (July 18-20)

The first wave of Game Pass games for July felt like the perfect way to celebrate summer. Specifically, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 let me relive those nostalgic summer days, and I can do it all again this weekend, only with a very different type of game. While that game is great, even if you have no nostalgia for one of the best ’80s films, I always love to highlight some unknown games making their way to the service. This weekend, you can take your pick from a delightful horror title and immersive sim-like prison escape RPG with a style you probably wouldn’t expect. If any of that sounds good, here are the 3 new Game Pass games I recommend for this weekend.

    Robocop: Rogue City

Anyone who loves the Robocop films knows the series took a nosedive after the second entry. That was mainly due to the change in directors and dropping it from an R to PG-13 rating. Robocop: Rogue City is the true sequel we all wanted and pulls no punches despite its smaller scale. No game has fully captured the look, feel, and tone of Robocop like this game. You will uphold the law in a small but detailed section of Old Detroit, dishing out justice how you see fit through tons of main and side quests. The developers clearly had a love for the source material, as every familiar location is perfectly recreated and they even went os far as to bring back Peter Weller to voice Robocop. With the stand-alone expansion also out as of now, there’s no better time to go on patrol.

Robocop: Rogue City is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC

    My Friendly Neighborhood

Taking a page out of the Five Nights At Freddy’s handbook, My Friendly Neighborhood embraces just how creepy puppet shows are when looked at from the right (or wrong) angle. This isn’t a pure horror experience, though, as there is a nice bit of sillyness to relieve the tension between the frights and tons of ways to fight back. Filled with puzzles, offbeat weapons, tons of puzzles, and a grid-based inventory system, this has all the trappings you want from a horror game. We’re not quite into spooky season yet, but this is a great way to ease into the season with something more on the action side of horror that is great even for younger players.

My Friendly Neighborhood is available now on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

    Back to the Dawn

I admit that I never heard of Back to the Dawn before it hit Game Pass this month, but discovering games like this is exactly why I love this service. Don’t be turned off by the animal characters here; this is a deep and highly dynamic prison escape RPG that just so happens to feature personified animal characters. You pick between two protagonists who each have their own storyline, stats, and skills you will use to (hopefully) break out of prison. Every choice matters, and there are more than 100 quests that can lead to dozens of ways to get out of prison as you unravel a deeper mystery. This game is highly replayable and immensely rewarding if you enjoy seeing how far you can push a game’s systems.

Back to the Dawn is available now on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

  • 3 new Game Pass games to play this weekend (July 11-13)

We’re officially in the throes of summer and, depending on where you live, suffering through the incredible heat. While I always think it’s good to get out and enjoy the summer, there’s a limit on how much sun we can take and need to head inside to relax with some cool Game Pass games. I’m especially excited for this weekend because there’s one game here that not only screams summer, but also tickles that nostalgic part of my brain. I think even newcomers will love that pick, but I always throw in two other options just in case you’re looking for something a bit different. Make sure you check out my last pick because I know you’ve never heard of it, and it might just be your weekend obsession.

    Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4

The star of Game Pass this week is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, a remake of the third and fourth entries of the iconic skateboarding franchise. This was the birth of the arcade skating genre, and these two entries are the most beloved of the original games before they got a bit too bloated and lost focus for some people’s tastes. Everything from the original games is back (though the soundtrack is a bit modified), and the fourth game has been completely reworked into the mission-based structure of the third game to feel more consistent. There are even a few new parks and cross-platform multiplayer so you can grind and trick with all your friends.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC.

    The Ascent

If you’re a longtime Game Pass subscriber then The Ascent will be a familiar name. This was one of the earliest examples of a day-one drop on the service back in 2021, but has returned to give anyone who missed it a chance to experience it. While it was a bit uneven at launch, bugs and fixes have made this isometric shooter RPG reach its full potential. Playable solo or in co-op, this twin-stick shooter has a storyline just as brutal as its gameplay. You live in a cyberpunk dystopian future where megacorporations rule all and, after its collapse, sends everything into chaos. If you want a similar flavor to Cyberpunk 2077‘s world, this is a great option.

The Ascent is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

    Minami Lane

Let’s slow things down for our final pick and get cozy. Minami Lane is a sadly overlooked management sim that came out a few years ago to overwhelmingly positive reviews. You will manage a single Japanese-inspired street by catering to your citizens’ needs and desires to keep them happy. You can add new homes, decorations, shops, and more, with plenty to customize in each to express yourself through your urban design. Your villagers will give helpful hits as you make changes as to what will make them happier. This game is a perfect weekend title because you can finish in around 2 to 4 hours.

Minami Lane is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

  • 3 new Game Pass games to play this weekend (July 4-6)

Those of us in America have a nice, long weekend to kick off July thanks to the 4th of July holiday. While some of us may have plans for barbeques and fireworks watching in the evening, there’s still loads of time to spare playing some awesome Xbox games. As luck would have it, Game Pass just added a ton of new additions to the service this week that are perfect for the extended weekend. We do have to wait until next week for the first major day one release, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, but there are still some great options to check out before that. I’ve included a fun party game for anyone hosting an event, a game with a short but powerful runtime, and a classic RPG to get lost in. Let’s check them all out.

    Ultimate Chicken Horse

With a name as wacky as Ultimate Chicken Horse, you can expect the gameplay to be just as chaotic. This is a competitive platformer with a simple but devious twist; players all place different platforms, obstacles, and hazards on the map between rounds to try and stop everyone else from reaching the end while still making it possible for you to get there. It is simple enough that anyone can hop in and play without feeling overwhelmed or at a disadvantage. Rounds go by fast and are full of laughs as people inevitably fall into their own traps or mess up a jump at the last moment. This is a great option for parties where you can play for a few minutes or a few hours.

Ultimate Chicken Horse is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

    Little Nightmares 2

We’re looking forward to the third entry in this unique horror franchise later this year, but you can get a taste of what’s to come if you haven’t tried Little Nightmares 2 yet. There is technically a connection between the first two games, but only if you dig deep into the lore. There’s absolutely no issue if you start off with the second one. This game shrinks you down and presents you with a dark world filled with distorted giants and surreal landscapes that feel ripped right out of a child’s nightmare. Mechanically, this is a 2.5D puzzle platformer with very light combat and stealth elements, which is a rare genre to blend with horror that is incredibly effective. If you get hooked, as I think you will, then you can count on completing the adventure before the weekend is done.

Little Nightmares 2 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

    Legend of Mana

The Mana games often live in the shadow of bigger JRPGs like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, but are just as high quality. Legend of Mana is a remaster of one of the classic entries from 1999 that updates the visuals and adds some nice quality-of-life features. If you’ve never played a Mana game, they feature a neat real-time combat system where you build up a meter over time to unleash special moves. Beyond a traditional story and RPG systems, what Legend does that remains unique to this day is the Land Make system. This allows you to build out the world map yourself as you go to dictate how your adventure plays out.

Legend of Mana is available now onPS4, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

  • 3 new Game Pass games to play this weekend (June 13-15)

If you’re a superstitious person, Friday the 13th might be a bad sign for this weekend. While I can’t say you won’t encounter any bad luck, what I can promise is that you will have more than enough fun with all the new Game Pass games hitting the service. Last weekend’s Xbox Games Showcase showed off too many upcoming Xbox Series X games to count, most of which will be day-one Game Pass games when they come out, but we still have a while to wait for games like Keeper and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. All that excitement may have overshadowed the latest batch of Game Pass games, including a fantastic day one sci-fi survival game like nothing else, a delightful co-op strategy game, and the biggest sports game just in time for the World Cup.

    The Alters

Any sci-fi fan should pay close attention to The Alters, regardless of whether or not you typically like survival games. After crashing onto a mysterious planet, lone survivor Jan Dolski can only survive by creating alternate versions of himself based on different life paths he could’ve gone down had me made different choices. Between juggling the need to gather resources, expand your base, and overcome obstacles to move your base before the sun rises and cooks you with radiation, you will spend a ton of time interacting with your various Alters. This is where the game shines brightest. The moral and ethical dilemmas, plus the unique issues that arise from alternate versions of the same person trying to work together in a dire situation, are incredibly captivating and thought-provoking.

The Alters is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

    Kingdom: Two Crowns

Technically, Kingdom: Two Crowns is the third game in the overall Kingdom series, but you won’t have any problems starting here. The first thing you will notice is the game’s amazing pixel art, but there’s a lot of depth behind this 2D game. You control a monarch who manages and builds up your kingdom under attack by a race of monsters called the Greed. You spend the day building up your defenses using gold before night falls and waves of enemies attack. You don’t fight yourself, but simply place units, build walls, and outfit your kingdom to repel invaders, but you can travel out during the day to explore a procedurally generated world to hunt for extra loot. This is a great co-op game, especially since it supports local split-screen play.

Kingdom: Two Crowns is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Mobile, and PC.

    EA Sports FC 25

Xbox knows exactly what it’s doing here, and I totally respect it. June 14 marks the beginning of the World Cup, so what better time to give us EA Sports FC 25 so we can play along with the real event? For those who didn’t follow the news at the time, the EA Sports FC brand is the same team that made all the FIFA games in the past, but has ditched the license to make their own brand. While the name is different, the top-notch soccer simulation gameplay is exactly the same. New to this game is the new tactical system called FC IQ, Player Roles, and a 5v5 Rush Mode. Of course, there’s always the career mode and slightly predatory Ultimate Team.

EA Sports FC 25 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

  • 3 Game Pass games to play this weekend (June 6-8)

As Xbox fans, we have a big weekend ahead of us. Summer Game Fest is well underway, but the real attraction comes on Sunday with the Xbox Games Showcase. There are tons of rumors swirling about what games will be shown. We already know that The Outer Worlds 2 will get its own dedicated direct, but who knows if we might see more of Fable, Perfect Dark, or State of Decay 3. Plus, could it be time for a new Halo? Sunday is right at the end of the weekend, so that leaves us with plenty of time to kill with some hot Game Pass games. There’s even a good chance that Xbox will drop, or at least announce, a new game coming to Game Pass during the show so I wanted to make sure to put these games on your radar for this weekend just in case a surprise drop does come.

    Crypt Custodian

I love it when Xbox supports smaller indie games by giving them the spotlight in Game Pass. Similar to Tunic years ago, Crypt Custodian is another delightful Zelda-like adventure where you play as a cat named Pluto who is hit by a car and sent to the afterlife. Using a broom as your main weapon, you will become the afterlife’s custodian. Mixing in equal parts action and platforming, this is a perfectly tuned and paced adventure. You will explore detailed environments, unlock new abilities and moves, and face off against tough bosses. You can spot its many inspirations, from action RPGs and Souls-likes to Metroidvanias, but it has such great vibes that you won’t mind the familiarity.

Crypt Custodian is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

    Symphonia

Sticking to smaller games that are well worth your time, we come to Symphonia. This is a pure platformer that weaves music into every moment. You take control of a violinist who is revived into a dying world with the goal of bringing music — and thus life — back. Your violin and bow act as a weapon and a way to traverse the world. Both the soundtrack and art style are eye-wateringly beautiful. That’s important because this isn’t a simple platformer and will give you a real test of your reactions and skill. It isn’t overly long, which you can take as a positive or a negative. My personal take was that it was just the right length for what it needed to be, and a perfect weekend game.

Symphonia is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

    State of Decay 2

I’m going out on a bit of a limb with this one, but I predict we’re about to see a lot more of State of Decay 3 at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase. This game has been in the works for years with almost no updates or showings for way too long. So, either playing the last game now will get you more excited for what we see of the third game, or it will help ease the pain of yet another showcase with no news. That’s a win-win, right? Part of why this series has such a hungry fanbase is that there’s just no other zombie survival game quite like it. It is especially fun if you can grab a couple of buddies to go scavenging with or playing the horde mode.

State of Decay 2 is available now on Xbox One and PC.

  • 3 new Game Pass games to play this weekend (May 30-June 1)

The month of May isn’t ending quietly. Elden Ring: Nightreign is sneaking in right at the buzzer to give souls fans a new way to engage with that hit formula in a co-op setting. Of course, we understand that style of game isn’t for everyone and that leaves a bit of an awkward gap before the next upcoming Xbox game. As impressive as the first wave of Game Pass games was, the second is arguably better. Not only are we treated to one of the best games of 2024, but two day one additions. This is the perfect weekend to get a little weird and try out some unique games that might only be possible thanks to Game Pass. Let’s kick off the summer on the right foot with my personal recommendations for what you should be playing this weekend.

    Metaphor: ReFantazio

2024 was an incredibly competitive year for awards. Astro Bot and Balatro took home tons of well-earned trophies, but it would be a crime to ignore just how good Metaphor: Refantazio is. It is clear as day this is coming from the Persona team just based on the core combat system, music, and incredible UI work, but evolves the formula in some meaningful ways. There’s a light bit of real-time combat you can use here, but the flexibility in the Archetype system begs you to break the entire thing wide open. If you enjoyed crafting overpowered builds in Clair Obscur, this game will scratch that same itch. Wrap the entire thing up in an incredibly relevant and heartfelt story and this is easily one of the best JRPGs to come out in the last decade.

Metaphor: Refantazio is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

    To a T

If you like the oddball style of the Katamari games, To a T is the next project from Keita Takahashi. This time the game is a narrative adventure centering around a young boy who is stuck in a T-pose; a term used in 3D modeling for a character’s default stance is standing straight up with both arms outstretched in a T stance. Described as a coming-of-age story, you will go through daily tasks to experience the difficulty of doing simple things like brushing your teeth when locked in that pose. Your dog will be your main companion and help you as you go through life in a small town. It sounds absurd, and likely is to a degree, but it has a lot of heart and a great message about living with a disability.

To a T is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

    Spray Paint Simulator

Look, we get it, it feels like there’s a simulation game for everything at this point. We can’t say all of them are winners, but Spray Paint Simulator has captured my attention as a great melding of the zen-like qualities of Powerwash Simulator but with more creative freedom. Again, the premise is in the title here; you’re entering levels to spray paint them to restore various locations and objects. The range of missions is great, from normal things like homes to giant robots. You will unlock more tools as you go and build up your business, but can also just jump into the Free Spray mode if you just feel like letting your creativity fly without any restraints.

Spray Paint Simulator is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

  • 3 new Xbox Game Pass games to play this weekend (May 23-25)

The last few weeks of Xbox Game Pass titles have been some of the best we’ve ever seen on the service. We’re still riding the high off Oblivion Remastered, Clair Obscure: Expedition 33, and Doom: The Dark Ages. If you’re anything like me, you’ve already burned through all of these games over the past few weeks and have found yourself in need of a new distraction for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Xbox appears to be trying to set some kind of record for the number of amazing weeks it can offer its subscribers. Let’s kick off the long weekend strong with the top Xbox Game Pass games I recommend downloading.

    Monster Train 2

Deckbuilding roguelike fans (yes, there are dozens of us) have been waiting all year for Monster Train 2, and now we can grab it at no extra charge on day one through Game Pass. This sequel has the same basic setup as the first, in which you set up your forces and play special cards to defend your train as it moves through the map, but features more clans, cards, enemies, challenges, modes, and more. The original was already very friendly to newcomers to the genre, and the refinements in the sequel only make it more accessible. At the same time, veterans can always push the challenge up by taking on Dimensional Challenges with their own rewards.

Monster Train 2 is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2

Stalker 2 did launch on Game Pass at the PC and Ultimate tier, but is now available for all subscribers. If you held off on the game because of that, or because it was a bit buggy at launch, now is the best time to finally start your adventure in the Zone. This game was already a looker at release, but now runs and plays as good as the team intended. It has similar vibes to a Fallout game, but is much more hardcore and unforgiving. If you enjoyed Atomfall from earlier this year, especially, this is a game that will eat up your entire weekend thanks to the dynamic world events and multiple ways you can complete quests.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is available now on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

    Tales of Kenzera: Zau

We’ve had a lot of very touching and personal games, but an overlooked one I am glad to give a spotlight to is Tales of Kenzera: Zau. What looks to be a typical Metroidvania is a deeply personal and cultural story about loss. The main thrust of the game centers around a young man mourning the loss of his father by reading his story about Zau, a shaman who is working with Death himself to try and save his father’s spirit. Each step of the journey teaches him another lesson on grief until the climax. There’s also a very solid game here with challenging platforming and a unique system of swapping between masks to alter your powers. You can complete the entire thing in a weekend, and I highly suggest you do.

Tales of Kenzera: Zau is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

  • 3 new Xbox Game Pass games to play this weekend (May 16-19)

As with every game subscription service, some weeks are weaker while others are incredibly strong. We’re pleased to say that this week easily falls into the latter category. There’s one huge day one game that has been sitting at the top of our most anticipated upcoming Xbox games for months, but there are two other surprise additions to Game Pass that we’re equally excited to recommend. As always, we strive to offer a diverse selection of games across multiple genres, not just the best FPS games on Xbox. So, if you’re ready to get in some quality gaming time this weekend, these are the games we can’t stop playing.

    Doom: The Dark Ages

Naturally, the headliner for this week has to be Doom: The Dark Ages. The latest Doom game, yet prequel to the 2016 reboot, pushes the dial even further with more weapons, demons, gore, and heavy metal action. Besides the medieval setting, this also marks a distinct change from the past two games, where there is no multiplayer component at all, and all efforts went into crafting the best single player campaign possible. While these games can be a little intimidating when you see how many enemies and projectiles are onscreen at once, a host of accessibility options allow you to tailor the experience to whatever is most comfortable for you. If you want to feel like an unstoppable force of nature ripping through demons like tissue, we can’t think of a better game to recommend.

Doom: The Dark Ages is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

    Warhammer: Vermintide 2

We totally understand how intimidating any game or product with the Warhammer label can be, but all you need to know about Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is that it is Left 4 Dead but with giant rats instead of zombies. It is also much more melee-focused, though there are ranged options. You and a squad will go through missions, each playing as one of five characters and choosing between over a dozen different careers to alter your skills and abilities. It offers that same level of chaotic fun as you all try to work together, push forward, and deal with the more deadly special rat types that can incapacitate you if left alone. Since Doom is just single player this time around, this is the go-to game you should play with your friends over the weekend.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo

If you have never heard of Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, we don’t blame you. This game just came out today, but don’t let it fall under the radar. This game is a magnificent artistic achievement in celebrating Latin American culture through a comedic lens. You will explore the world of Limbo in an adventure game format, helping the souls you encounter to reconcile and accept their personal issues in order to escape the repeated cycle of Limbo. beyond the typical adventure game mechanics, there are a some basic combat and stealth systems to spice things up, but this is meant to be a more relaxed and introspective game.

Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

  • 3 new Xbox Game Pass games to play this weekend (May 9-11)

We are all on the edge of our seats just waiting for Doom: The Dark Ages to unlock on our PCs and consoles, but Game Pass is the gift that keeps on giving. We’re barely even a week into the month and we already have a slate of new additions to the service, including a day one title. Whether you’re just trying to pass the time this weekend as fast as possible before Doom, or have no interest in that gory shooter and are looking for something a bit different to play before your next upcoming Xbox Series X game comes out, we won’t leave you hanging. These are the 3 best new Xbox Game Pass games we know you will love playing this weekend.

    Revenge of the Savage Planet

Just like with its first game, developer Raccoon Logic (formerly known as Typhoon Studios) takes aim at the absurdity and heartless nature of modern corporations and their incompetency with Revenge of the Savage Planet. As a game, this entry opens things up as an open world adventure with crafting and lite Metroidvania elements as you unlock new pieces of equipment. From the jump, this game proudly presents its world as a parody, with your main character waking from a cryopod and watching an orientation video immediately followed by a video laying you off. Similar to High on Life, the gameplay is merely okay here, but it is the world and humor that will win you over.

Revenge of the Savage Planet is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

    Dredge

We can’t say we ever imagined a horror game based on fishing, unless we played as the fish, perhaps. Dredge sets you on the dark and dangerous waters off the town of Greater Marrow. Using your dingy little fishing boat, you will go out fishing and salvaging items by completing a little minigame. However, as you venture further out to sea and stay out after dark, panic will rise, you will begin to hallucinate, and monsters from deep below will come to the surface. By trading in your hauls, you can upgrade your boat to go further and stay out longer to catch more deadly game. Besides being a mechanically addicting game despite the stress, there is also a lovely little horror tale to follow.

Dredge is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Mobile, and PC.

    Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball fans, it is time to break out your OC and bring them to life. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is the ultimate fanfiction Dragon Ball game where your unique character travels through time to help make sure the events of the story occur as they are supposed to. This includes inserting yourself in all the key battles of the show, from Goku’s fight with Radditz through the entire Z saga, but even non-canonical and new story moments that will be a blast for fans who have theorycrafted how hypothetical battles would play out. The gameplay is easy enough to get into as a 3D arena fighter, but has multiple hub areas to explore, NPCs to talk to, almost endless amounts of quests, and a huge multiplayer community that is still going strong.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

  • 3 new Xbox Game Pass games to play this weekend (May 2-5)

It’s hard to imagine Xbox gamers having another massive month after the one we got in April, but May is when things really start to get crazy for upcoming Xbox Series X games. The big game to watch out for is Doom: The Dark Ages, but we have a little bit of breathing room before ripping and tearing through that game. During this little lull, we decided to dive back into the Game Pass library and pick out the best games you should play over this weekend.

    Towerborne

You could technically have already been playing Towerborne like we have, but anyone who missed the news about it being in early access, or just wanted to wait, can now jump in for its official release as a Game Preview title on Series X/S. We don’t blame anyone for missing this game since it flew under a lot of people’s radar, but have to urge anyone with a love for side-scrolling beat ’em ups to give it a shot. The game uses elements of the core genre, plus a live-service model. Don’t let that word turn you off, though. This is one of the few games we can say works in this model. The moment-to-moment action is satisfying, and the progression and upgrades all feel great to earn.

Towerborne is available now on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

May the fourth be with you! Sorry, we had to say it. This is the unofficial Star Wars holiday so we had to celebrate it with at least one game, and if we could only pick one, then it had to be Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This one massive package lets you relive any or all of the core films in a friendly Lego shell. You can stick to the original trilogy, play the entire saga from beginning to end, or invent your own order. Even if you weren’t a fan of some of the films, the way they are recreated in Lego makes it much more fun and carefree. As a game, there is almost too much to do here if you are a completionist.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

    Anno 1800

City builders are somewhat niche, but the Anno series has been keeping that passionate crowd happy for years. With Anno 1800 the game has jumped to the beginning of the industrial age and sets you loose to build the perfect empire of your own design. You will not only build up your civilization while competing against other growing cities on the map. There’s a story mode to help you learn all the mechanics and systems to build a thriving city, plus multiplayer and sandbox modes to see just how efficient you are as a leader. This genre might feel a little intimidating if you’ve never tried it before, but this is one of the most highly-rated and beginner-friendly entries you can find.

Anno 1800 is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
