ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that information technology is a revolutionary sector which needs to exploit companies in the country to meet the demands of the modern world.
Addressing the launching ceremony of the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) here, he said that the corona virus was acquired only by companies that adapted to IT in a timely manner.
The Prime Minister said that the main purpose of setting up Special Technology Zones was to provide incentives to the IT sector so that it could develop in the interest of the country.
Urges companies to take advantage of information technology
He said that with the second youngest population in the world, Pakistan could use the IT sector to provide employment to its youth. Also, Pakistani citizens working in other countries can benefit from the special technology zone.
He said that STZA Chairperson Amir Ahmed Hashmi has a huge responsibility to accelerate Pakistan’s IT sector.
Earlier, the Prime Minister launched the STZA which will focus on the development of scientific and technological ecosystems.
